Milivoje Mića Marković (1939-2017) jazz saxophonist, clarinetist, composer and arranger was one of the key solists and conductor of the RTB Jazz Orchestra, as well as the leader of numerous combo jazz ensembles (Marković-Gut sextet, MP South Quartet…). He performed frequently at the Belgrade Jazz Festival main program as well as jam sessions. In 1976 he became a member of the Festival program Council. Upon Festival’s revival he became once again a mamber of the Council, then a Board member and in 2014 the Festival’s Art Director. At the opening of the 2016 Belgrade Jazz festival he received a plaque appointing him lifetime Board member and honorary citizen of “Planet Jazz”. RTS Big Band and Music School Stanković talents will play at the concert in memory of “Mića Coltrane”, and a film “Neka sećanja” about the last performance of the Marković-Gut Sextet in 2009 at the Festival will be shown.
