Eyot, a band from Niš (founded in 2008) brings eclectic sound between rock and jazz, punk and ambient music, impressionism and romanticism, blending various music styles in firm and strong compositions. Both audience and critics hail their work and in a short period of time they acquired a reputation of one of the most interesting instrumental bands in Europe. The band played more than 100 concerts in more than 20 countries all over the world – their performances are packed with energy and emotions, pulling the listener deep into their world. Jake McMurchie on saxophones and Pete Judge on trumpet from the British quartet Get the Blessing will make an exclusive appearance on stage with them at the opening night of the Belgrade Jazz festival.

Eyot is the winner of the 2009 Umbria Jazz Balkanic Windows competition, as well as the 2012 Midem Off Showcase (Cannes, France). They released four albums so far – their latest production Innate (Ninety and Nine Records/Metropolis Jazz) was recorded and mixed by the renowned Steve Albini at the Electrical Audio Studio in Chicago. Just like before, the band heavily relies on the traditional music from the Balkans and Eastern Europe, creating a true blend of old and new, the East and the West.
