Norwegian saxophonist and composer Marius Neset (1985) first brought attention of the jazz audience as the front man of the teenage Scandinavian band JazzKamikaze in mid 2000s. Raised in a family of musicians, he was only five when took lessons on drums and this gave him a strong rhythmic base to his musical expression. Edvard Grieg, Royksopp and Nattjazz Festival are the three music highlights of his hometown Bergen, directing him to diverse realms: the genre fluidity and open-mindedness are key features of his music.

He has recorded ten albums with JazzKamikaze and People Are Machines, before releasing the first album under own name in 2011 on the British label Edition Records. Today, he is a Munich-based ACT label’s exclusive artist, expressing his art in various environments: from combo ensembles to big bands, to classic chamber orchestra. In Belgrade, he presents his new album Circle of Chimes, that will be released four weeks earlier. In Neset’s words, this is the darkest, most melancholic, as well as the most personal album he has made so far.
